‘Art From The Heart’ Helps Wounded Soldiers

One of our readers told us about a program at Fort Bragg, Art from the Heart, that helps wounded soldiers transition to civilian life with the help of art. Sponsored by the American Red Cross and Army Wounded Warriors Program, the program not only provides therapy to the soldiers but also aims to help them transition to, and establish, a life after the military.
Artist and veteran, Craig Bone, leads the charge for the project, utilizing his talents and connections to help the soliders. At the end of the project, Craig will give each member the opportunity have their artwork and back story published in a book.
You can also watch a video about the project here.

A new product was released today that, if consumed, will improve your overall health. It combines the healing powers of art therapy with the replenishing properties of tea. It is called “Art Theratea” and the FTC has approved it for its mental and physical healing capability.
Have a rough day? Too late to schedule an appointment with your art therapist? Now you can get instant relief and begin the healing immediately by drinking Art Theratea. You can buy Art Theratea in packets or you can utilize the following easy-to-do recipe:
Begin with a tea pot. Add in one geranium. Add one orchid. Add one bonzai branch. Add some sage. Add some basil. Add a piece of bamboo stalk. Add the rarest flower from your general location. Add something colorful. Add hot water and boil. Pour your tea into a clear glass. Stare at your liquid art for about 3 minutes. When you’re ready, drink and begin feeling the healing power.

Check out this creative art video from Mike Barzman and Christian Swegal, called Pink Terror With Stephen Hawking. It contains bits of audio interview from Stephen Hawking and was shot at a very high frame per second rate to achieve the super slow motion effect. We think the Stephen Hawking addition adds a nice touch…see for yourself. What do you think? What ways could you use video as art therapy?

We thought these 2 finger paintings were pretty amazing and decided to share them with you. What’s cool about them is, that there were more than just 10 fingers painting on these canvases. We love seeing such large projects like this and throwing in the social awareness aspect makes it even better.
Over 30,000 fingers later:

A picture of the world’s largest finger painting. Over 22,000 square feet.
