It was only today that I was considering a new blend of tea, and Basil came to mind, with it’s aroma and essence! Strangely enough, I also know that Geranium has alot of Healing essence too, and can share a really phenominal Art experience with you, in connection with a Holistic Art Healing experience. A few months ago, one of my family members, experienced a tragedy, and as it was rather a shocking experience for a mother, giving birth to a baby who was experiencing muscular spasms, I decided to paint on Geranium leaf. The smell of Geranium is so healing, and I decided to paint a baby’s portrait. As I was blending the skin pigments, and painting the facial features, I felt a real link with a Healing force. I left some of the mixed paint on another leafpad, left in my studio, then the next day discovered the image of a baby reaching out towards some yellows and whites on the leaf. My sister called me from overseas and told me that the baby had an imbalance of Copper and zinc in her system, and I was amazed to learn the news, as the image on this leaf, described the colours of copper and zinc. The baby was then given formulae milk, and has slowly thrived, the fits subsided, although there is a health problem, she is alot better. It was the painting that amazed me, as it was an Abstract, and later the elements painted the palette picture, strange, but beautiful. Art is so Therapeutic and a good source of Healing.Thankyou for the “Art Theratea”, shall pass it onto my friends, who are participating in Art Therapy.I have kept this remarkable picture of the baby reaching out for Copper and Zinc, imaginative or not, it was like a message from a Healing Angel. The other portrait, I made into a mixed media, and called it ‘Ode to Adelle’, and wrote a Poem inspired by this Holistic Painting experience. Here it is, ‘Ode to Adelle’. Sweet babe, you came to me in mists of unspoken dreams, ’twas noble of this sweet child to drift upon the tribulation of unborn vision, giving Peace and Healing through sweet Geranium, Your fragrence lives e’re long. One of my babies was to be called Adelle, we lost our first daughter, and strangely after I heard that my neice gave birth to a daughter, with a muscular problem, then I believe this baby ,Adelle, inspired me to paint upon Geranium, and unknowingly, transferred this image on the leaf of a Geranium, that later was diagnosed, the baby had this imbalance of two elements, copper and zinc. Since this phenominal Art experience, I am convinced even more in Healing with Herbs and Art. I just wanted to share this amazing experience with The Art Therapy Blog. Regards Angela
